Believe it or not, spring is almost here in northeastern Wisconsin! With the warmer weather comes a variety of great events in the Chippewa Falls Area School District. We would like to send a special invitation to all our community members, including our alumni, to check out and attend these events in the weeks to come:

Chilly Chippewa Race — Saturday, March 7, 10 a.m.

What better way to welcome spring than running outdoors with your fellow Mighty Cardinals? The Chippewa Falls Senior High School cross country team is hosting its 19th annual Chilly Chippewa race. Registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt for the first 75 participants, awards, online results and free post-race chili. The race is a fundraiser for the cross country team.

Chippewa Falls Band-o-Rama — Monday, March 9, 7 p.m.

The annual Band-o-Rama event brings together the entire Chippewa Falls band program, spanning grades 6 through 12, for an incredible night of music. Enjoy the community’s finest young musicians of all ages. The event will be held in the Chi-Hi gym. 

Spring Craft Sale — Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Chi-Hi wrestling program is hosting the 36th annual Spring Craft Show at Chippewa Falls Senior High School. There will be more than 100 creators and sellers of handmade items stationed throughout campus. Admission is $1; kids under 18 are free. All proceeds benefit the Chippewa Falls High School wrestling program. 

The team is also hosting a non-perishable food drive to assist those in need. Please bring a non-perishable food item to help the cause. More information available at the craft show website. 

Special Olympics vs. CFPD basketball — Thursday, April 2, 6 p.m.

The Chippewa County Adult Special Olympians will take on the Chippewa Falls Police Department for the 34th annual "Fun Night" fundraiser for Special Olympics. This is always a great time for all ages, with special events for kids during the game. Catch the game in the Chi-Hi gym. 

Southview Elementary Spring Craft Show — Saturday, April 4

Come explore vendors and crafters to find your next favorite piece. Participate in a raffle with proceeds benefiting Southview Elementary!

Chi-Hi fine arts performances

Chi-Hi students have been hard at work creating their finest pieces, culminating in several opportunities to see our community’s best artists. View their final exhibitions and performances of the 2019-20 school year:

• AP Art show - Thursday, May 7, 6 p.m. at Heyde Center
• Band concert - Monday, May 11
• Orchestra concert - Wednesday, May 13
